He played under the Roberto Copernico-Giuseppe Bigogno duo, Mario Sperone, Oberdan Ussello, Jesse Carver (as TD) and Luigi Miconi. These were difficult years after the Grande Torino years and the tragedy.

He also had jobs as a sporting director, as in 1964 with Lazio. The Biancocelesti finished 14th in Serie A under Umberto Mannocci. Nay was also Lazio chairman Angelo Miceli's personal consultant.
In 1966-67 he tried coaching again with Ternana in Serie C. He was replaced during the season and the Rossoverdi eventually finished 8th.
Nay was a strong midfielder. He was 1.81 and 83 kilos and was known as a fighter. He played nine consecutive seasons in Serie A, making 261 appearances. He was unlucky with his timing both at Torino and Juventus. He made 2 appearances for the Italy B side.
