Davide Frattesi
Davide Frattesi was born in Rome on September 22, 1999.
He began playing football with Lazio at the age of six and spent eight years in the club's youth system, from 2006 to 2014. He subsequently joined Roma, where he continued his development and won the Coppa Italia and Supercoppa Primavera before moving to Sassuolo in 2017.
Frattesi made his professional debut with Sassuolo in the Coppa Italia before gaining experience in Serie B on loan with Ascoli, Empoli and Monza. His most productive season in the second tier came with Monza in 2020-21, when he scored eight goals in 39 league appearances.
He returned to Sassuolo in 2021 and made his Serie A debut against Verona on August 21 that year. He spent two seasons as an important member of the Neroverdi midfield, making 72 Serie A appearances and scoring 11 goals.
In the summer of 2023, Frattesi joined Inter. Over three seasons at San Siro he made 81 Serie A appearances and scored 11 goals, while adding 27 appearances and three goals in European competition and a further 13 appearances and one goal in the Coppa Italia and Italian Super Cup. Overall, he made 121 appearances and scored 15 goals for Inter in those competitions.
During his time at Inter, Frattesi won the Serie A title in 2023-24 and 2025-26, as well as the 2023 Supercoppa Italiana and the 2025-26 Coppa Italia. He also established himself as an Italy international, making his senior debut against Germany in June 2022.
In the summer of 2026, Frattesi decided to return to Lazio, completing an emotional homecoming to the club where his football education had begun. The move followed three seasons at Inter during which he increasingly found himself competing for a place in a crowded midfield. Frattesi wanted a new challenge and a more prominent role, and chose to return to Rome rather than continue at Inter. The FIGC reported in September that he had made the decision because he wanted to feel important again and rediscover his enjoyment of football.
His return has made an immediate impact. In his first three Serie A appearances for Lazio in 2026-27, Frattesi scored three goals, helping the club make a strong start to the season.
