Enrique Martegani

Enrique Andrés Martegani was born on February 22 1925 in Buenos Aires.

He started playing professionally for Chacarita Juniors in 1944 followed by a couple of seasons with Boca Juniors, and one with Estudiantes, again Chacarita Juniors and All Boys.

In 1950 he signed for Padova where he stayed for two years with 63 appearances and 23 goals.

He then moved to Palermo, bought personally by Raimondo Lanza di Trabia, president of the club. When he married the actress Olga Villi, he gave her Martegani as a wedding present.

He played for the Rosaneri for three seasons for a total of 93 league appearances and 21 goals.

In 1955 he joined Lazio but played very little, just 9 games.

He died in Buenos Aires on October 20 2006.
