Lazio win the Lazio League
By thrashing Juventus Roma, the Biancocelesti win the Lazio League
Also on this day:

The season so far
The Third Category regional leagues took place in 1912. They were played between March and May due to the more favourable weather conditions. Lazio had so far won 8 of their 9 games, only losing one match against Audace Esperia. They were currently first together with Audace but had one game left against Juventus Roma which was originally supposed to be played on March 31 but was postponed. A win today would see the Biancocelesti regional champions.
The match: Thursday, June 6, 1912, Piazza d’Armi, Rome
As soon as the referee started the game Lazio planted their flag in the Juventus penalty area and after five minutes went ahead with Marcello Consiglio thanks to a Corrado Corelli assist. Five more minutes and it was 2-0. Pino Fioranti tried a shot, Attilio Ruberti parried and Corelli was ready for the tap in.
At this point the game eased off a bit, also due to a better defensive layout from the hosts. Arnaldo Gaia IV later in the first half scored directly from a corner, but at that time this was against the rules and was hence disallowed.
In the second half, Juventus Roma put their foot on the accelerator and reduced the deficit thanks to a penalty taken by Ugo Monarchi. The home team sensed they could get an equaliser, but it was Lazio who scored again with Fernando Saraceni following an Amedeo Coraggio cross.
Augusto De Giuli then scored the 2-3 with a powerful shot and things started looking up again for the home side. But with three minutes to the end of the game the referee gave a penalty to Lazio taken and scored by Saraceni, then in the last minute there was another splendid goal from Corelli which closed the game.
Yet another trophy for the Biancocelesti.

What happened next
Lazio later went on to win the Ancherani Cup beating Pro Roma 11-0. The Biancocelesti had earlier also won the Easter Cup in April beating Roman 2-0.
Six players topped the appearances this year playing every game: Consiglio, Coraggio, Fioranti, Gaia IV, Levi I and Saraceni I who was also top scorer with 21 goals.
Let’s talk about Mario Levi II

Mario Levi was born on February 20, 1893 in Rome. He was the brother of Guido Levi who also played for Lazio.
The first traces of the presence of Levi II with the club are dated 1908 when he appeared for the third team. He was a defender and played the finals of the national league in 1913 and 1914 against Pro Vercelli and Casale. In 1915 he joined the army in the First World War. He was shot multiple times in the legs, face and arms during the First Battle of the Isonzo on October 21 1915 (a series of twelve battles against the Austro-Hungarian army). He was awarded a medal for this.
He was not a champion but a decent player with great athleticism. But he loved the club. When Lazio returned to Serie A in 1963 he sent a declaration: “I join in enthusiastic applause and affectionate thanks to the managers, the coach and the athletes of the glorious club, to which I have been honoured to belong for over fifty years, for having given me the joy of being able to again see in the top division competition the colours I defended on the field with my modest strength, in a very distant time, and always held in my heart with fervent passion and with faith that has never failed”.
From what is known, he made 81 appearances and scored two goals for Lazio, but there were almost certainly more.
