Game 9, Serie A
Thursday, October 30, 2025
Cetilar Arena, Pisa
Pisa Lazio 0-0
Lazio are stopped by Pisa but they did have their chances

The team
Just one change for Maurizio Sarri compared to the first eleven that had beaten Juventus: Luca Pellegrini on the left and as a consequence Adam Marusic was moved to the right taking the place of Manuel Lazzari.
First half
Under heavy rain, and without Lazio fans, banned in a last-minute decision by the Pisa authorities, the Biancocelesti faced a difficult match in Tuscany.
In the first 20 minutes Lazio had problems in finding the right moves and Pisa were dangerous in the 7th minute when M’Bala N’Zola passed to Matteo Tramoni who ended shooting badly from a favourable position. In the 22nd minute the first Toma Basic shot, which however was no problem for the Pisa keeper. In the 25th minute another chance for the locals. Juan Cuadrado crossed from the left, Tramoni missed the ball which arrived to Idrissa Touré who, probably surprised, could not find the right coordination and shot wide in front of Ivan Provedel. In the 30th minute from a difficult angle Gustav Isaksen tried to surprise Adrian Semper with a shot on the front post, mission failed. In the 31st minute Danilo Cataldi to Mattia Zaccagni on the left, the Lazio captain flew towards the penalty box, moved centrally and passed the ball to Isaksen who tried a shot but it was weak and Semperi managed to get a hand to the ball and defuse the danger. The Biancocelesti tried again in the 36th minute with Basic but his shot hit the woodwork.
Second half
In the interval Sarri made a surprise move. Out went Boulaye Dia, in came Pedro who would hence be a falso nueve. Shortly after the beginning of the second 45 minutes Lazzari and Matias Vecino took the places of Pellegrini and Basic. Another strange move particularly because the Croatian had been one of the best Lazio players on the pitch so far, and anyway, the most dangerous. Another few minutes and Oliver Provstgaard took the place of Mario Gila who had intestinal problems. Pisa also made three changes: in went Ebenezer Akinsanmiro, Styefano Moreo and Medhi Léris for Marius Marin, Cuadrado and Tramoni.
Pisa at this point attacked with more conviction and in the 73rd minute Léris took a corner, Moreo headed but a great save from Provedel denied him the goal. In the 77th minute it was the turn of Touré to try a header, only slightly wide.
That was the end of the game. Lazio, missing a centre forward, had nobody in the box and hence were unable to be dangerous. Not a good idea.
