In 1920-21 he joined the Lazio first team after having played with the youth teams. With his brother he formed a good partnership at midfield and the Biancocelesti in 1922-23 reached the national final but were beaten by Genoa. He stopped playing for Lazio in 1923 and was very briefly manager of the Biancocelesti in 1925-26. He continued to play football with his brother in minor Roman clubs.

Closely tied to the Fascist regime, during the 1930s he was an important sports administrator, primarily involved in the organization of the G.U.F. (University Fascist Groups). He was appointed Federal Secretary of Rome (Federale dell'Urbe) and served as prefect of Cuneo, Gorizia, and, in 1941, Zara. He was also Director General of Cinematography at the Ministry of Popular Culture.

He was killed on 26 May 1942 in an ambush set by Tito's partisans against an Italian military column. He was awarded the Gold Medal of Military Valor, Italy's highest military decoration for bravery.
