The team

Maurizio Sarri recovered Mattia Zaccagni and Toma Basic for this game and despite the fact that neither of them had played for a while, particularly the Croat, he decided to start with them. To the long list of injured players, one had to add Daniel Maldini and Mario Gila, substituted by Boulaye Dia and Oliver Provstgaard. Patric was chosen ahead of Danilo Cataldi.

Only four things happened.

That was it.

Just like against Parma, the Biancocelesti found it very difficult to create anything dangerous. Still too few players in the box, still too many outside it. Against closed defences, something better must be done. Just like in other occasions, once Lazio fall behind, they find it very difficult to come back. All Fiorentina did in the game was the Gosens header, enough to win.
