Game 18, Serie A

Stadio Olimpico, Rome
Lazio Napoli 0-2
Napoli beat Lazio easily as the Biancocelesti put up little resistance

It was just too easy for Napoli against Lazio. The Biancocelesti spent the entire game just worrying about defending and did almost nothing in attack whereas the Neapolitans scored two, hit a crossbar and had a number of other chances to make it worse for the home side.
A goal up after 15 minutes with Leonardo Spinazzola on a long cross from Matteo Politano with the Lazio defence way too static, Napoli scored their second in the 32nd minute courtesy of referee Davide Massa. A non-existent free kick for a Tijani Noslin hand ball when it was the Biancoceleste forward who had been fouled was just the start of the usual anti Lazio refereeing by the man in black. On the Politano cross, Amir Rrahmani headed the ball past Ivan Provedel.
The Biancocelesti did very little the entire match. Noslin was the sole centre forward available since Boulaye Dia was at the AFC and Taty Castellanos sold to West Ham United. But Lazio never created anything with the exception of a crossbar hit by a Matteo Geundouzi header off a Pedro freekick in the 90th minute. Too little to create any worries for Napoli.
We mentioned the ref. Apart from the free kick gifted to the visitors in the first half, he sent Noslin off in the second adding a second yellow card for a perfectly normal foul. Way too harsh a decision, depriving Lazio of their sole centre forward for the delicate match against Fiorentina in three days’ time. Adam Marusic will also be absent for the game, sent off for a brawl with Pasquale Mazzocchi in the 88th minute.
The only smiles in the Biancoceleste camp came from the stroll under Curva Nord by Felipe Caicedo and given a hero’s welcome plus from the spectacular choreography. The fans deserve more.
