Mauro Zitelli was born in Rome on April 12, 2000.
He started his career as a midfielder with the youth teams of Fiorentina but in 2016 he signed for Lazio and began with the Under 17s.
In the following season he began playing for the Primavera team and was even called up for Italy’s Under 18 National Squad. But while training with them he ruptured the anterior cruciate ligament of his knee, compromising the rest of the season.
A regular in the 2018-19 Primavera team, he made six appearances on the bench in Serie A and Coppa Italia but never debuted.
In July 2019 he signed for Rieti in Serie C. He made just two appearances and since then has played for a number of Serie D minor clubs.
He currently plays for San Basilio.
