Lazio had so far played two league games winning at Bergamo and beating Palermo, plus the Europa League playoff against Mura 05 which Lazio had won 5-1 on aggregate.

Today was game three for Serie A.

The match

Five minutes and Lazio already ahead. Hernanes received the ball a few metres away from the box, he dribbled past a couple of players and let go a left footed shot which hit the inside of the post and went in. A marvellous goal.

Chievo attacked but the Biancocelesti controlled the game comfortably. A shot from Perparim Hetemaj on the half hour went just wide. The real danger came in the 35th minute when André Dias decided to back head a ball to Federico Marchetti not realising that David Di Michele was still in the Lazio box. The former West Ham United player tried a volley which Marchetti did well to save. Two minutes later, 2-0 for Lazio. Hernanes dribbled past a Chievo player and moved forward. Once close to the box he tried a shot, Stefano Sorrentino parried but in came Miro Klose for the tap in.

In the second half Chievo put their foot on the accelerator. In the 68th minute off a corner not cleared by the Lazio defence, Bostjan Cesar had a chance but his shot from close range went wide. Another Dias mistake in the 70th minute when he missed a passing ball from Sergio Pellissier which reached Davide Moscardelli whose shot went only just wide.

Hernanes then decided to close the hostilities going off on the left, Marco Rigoni could not keep up with him and from a difficult angle made it 3-0.

In the 82 minute Pelissier scored on a penalty for Chievo conceded for a Klose hand on Gennaro Sardo’s back.

Three games, three wins. Could not really expect more!!!
