Lazio come from behind to beat Cremonese with a last-second Noslin goal

The team

Maurizio Sarri decided not to risk Mario Gila and placed Oliver Provstgaard in defence alongside Alessio Romagnoli. Patric was once again used as the playmaker, with Gustav Isaksen, Daniel Maldini and Mattia Zaccagni up front.

First half

Lazio started well and had their first chance in the fifth minute. Zaccagni took a free-kick from the left, crossing towards the far post, where Provstgaard tried a header which narrowly missed the target.

The Biancocelesti attacked without much luck, while Cremonese defended without too many problems. Then, in the 29th minute, came something nobody expected. Federico Bonazzoli tried a shot which was not particularly dangerous, but Edoardo Motta misread it and Cremonese took the lead. It was the first blunder from the Coppa Italia hero.

In the 33rd minute, another free-kick was again taken by Zaccagni, and once again Provstgaard got his head to it, but this time his effort went too high. Cremonese had another chance when Alessio Zerbin capitalised on a defensive fumble, but his shot went wide.

Second half

Sarri took Patric and Maldini off at half-time and brought on Nicolò Rovella and Tijjani Noslin. In the 50th minute, from a Zaccagni corner, Romagnoli had a chance with a header, but his effort was too central.

Two minutes later, Cremonese won a corner. The ball arrived at Nuno Tavares inside the Lazio box and he went off like in the good old days. The Portuguese left-back went coast-to-coast and, once he reached the Cremonese half, passed the ball to Noslin. He in turn assisted Isaksen, who made it 1–1.

Lazio continued to attack. A tiring Zaccagni was replaced by Pedro, while Kenneth Taylor made way for Fisayo Dele-Bashiru. Later, Boulaye Dia came on for Isaksen.

Warren Bondo, who had replaced Alberto Grassi on the hour, tried a shot in the 82nd minute, but Motta parried it. He tried again in the 90th minute, but Motta produced a marvellous save to keep the score level.

Then, in the 92nd minute, Lazio broke forward on the counter-attack. Dia found Noslin on the left, who returned the ball to the Senegalese forward. Dia managed to play it back to the Dutchman, who produced a fantastic curling shot to give the Biancocelesti all three points.

A good win for Lazio, who now face the most important games of the season.
