He was a Lazio player from 2017-2021.

He was not always a regular but conquered Lazio fans' hearts for his hardworking performances and an incredible series of injury time goals. The added time became known as "Zona Caicedo" and the joke circulated that the games were never over until Caicedo decided so. He won a Coppa Italia and the Supercoppa twice.

Caicedo was a big, physical forward but quick for his size. He was a mobile and technical left-footer who was good in the air and played more for the team and fellow forwards than for himself.

His previous clubs included Basel (a domestic cup), Manchester City, Sporting Lisbon, Malaga, Levante, Lokomotiv Moscow and Espanyol. He later played briefly for Genoa, Inter (a Coppa Italia) and Abha (Saudi). He earned 68 caps for Ecuador with 22 goals.

Il "Panterone" still follows Lazio and is immensely popular in Rome.

He was a complete goalkeeper who excelled on high balls. He was not flashy but reliable, consistent and a good penalty stopper (17 in A).

He is the Lazio keeper with most games and has the longest unbeaten record, 745 minutes. In the early years especially, he was very popular as Lazio had finally found an excellent keeper, possibly the first since Felice Pulici.

He earned 9 caps for Italy and was runner-up at the 1994 World Cup.

Il "Conte" is definitely one of the better keepers in Lazio's history and the most winning with seven trophies.
