Stadio Olimpico, Rome
Lazio Padova 5-1
After a dire first half, Lazio overturn the result scoring five

So far Lazio were doing well. They were second with Fiorentina, two points behind Parma.
The match
Lazio could not to play Roberto Di Matteo, Beppe Favalli and Alen Boksic and were forced to put in Gigi Casiraghi just back from injury and completely out of form. As a consequence, the first half was dire. Padova scored in the 9th minute. Giuseppe Galderisi on the right gave a through ball to Filippo Maniero, possibly in off side, Luca Marchegiani was too far forward, Maniero tried an immediate shot that went under the keeper’s legs and into the net.
Galderisi missed the 2-0 when he was not able to control the ball and that was all Padova had in the tank. Lazio were disastrous. Bad in defence, terrible at midfield, absent in attack. It took them 45 minutes to get things organised and finally a decent play. Diego Fuser to Roberto Rambaudi who dribbled past the keeper and made it 1-1.
Different Lazio in the second half. In the 50th minute. Paolo Negro crossed from the left, Aron Winter anticipated the goalkeeper and headed the ball which then accidently hit Alexi Lalas and went in.
A minute later Rambaudi to Beppe Signori who went into the box and tried a shot which went under Adriano Bonaiuti’s legs and it was 3-1.
In the 77th minute Rambaudi to Marco Di Vaio, who had substituted Casiraghi in the 68th minute, and 4-1. The Biancoceleste fifth goal came in the 90th minute with a clinical shot from Winter from outside the box on another Rambaudi assist.
Lazio second with Fiorentina, two points behind leaders Parma.
