The season had started very well. In the first five games Lazio had won them all except one, beating Livorno 6-1 and Juventus 5-3, and were top of the table together with Fiorentina. But after the draw in the derby, the Biancocelesti lost four consecutive matches. Then they won three out of four and lost the last match of the first half of the season 1-0 against Ambrosiana Inter. They were then sixth together with Triestina.

Lazio were currently 5th together with Alessandria two points behind fourth placed Roma.

The match

A massacre. Lazio had their foot on the accelerator right from the word go and gave no chance to Pro Vercelli. In the first 15 minutes the visitors never crossed the half way line but all the Biancocelesti could muster was a Silvio Piola shot which forced Egidio Scansetti to a miraculous saved in the 6th minute and a couple of Virgilio Felice Levratto attempts, both off target.

In the 19th minute, Anfilogino GuarisiAlejandro Demaria one-two, ball to Antonio Bisigato and it was 1-0 for Lazio.

Pro Vercelli tried a reaction but nothing came of it. The hosts therefore made it 2-0 in the 43rd minute. Piola surrounded by defenders passed to Bisigato who saw that Levratto was in a scoring position and gave him the assist which the bomber from Liguria promptly slotted into the net.

Towards the end of the half again Levratto with a chance and again Scansetti with a great save.

In the 50th minute a Piola shot was parried into corner by the Piedmontese keeper. On the corner there was a massive scrum in the penalty box solved by Bisigato to make it 3-0 for the Biancocelesti.

In the 54th minute Guarisi went close to scoring but the final three goals all came in the last fifteen minutes. In the 76th, Piola received the ball from Giuseppe Viani who passed to Levratto. His shot was accidentally deflected by the Lazio centre forward thus wrong-footing the keeper.

In the 84th minute Levratto passed to Bisigato, ball to Guarisi who dribbled past Achille Dellarole and from fifteen metres beat Scansetti for the fifth time. The final goal was scored by Demaria thanks to a Viani assist and deliberately left by Piola.

Great game and great win for the Biancocelesti.
